Out On Screen fulfills its mission statement through the following artistic commitments:

to exhibit work representing the most diverse range of images, themes and communities possible
to involve the community in the programming process
to be responsive to audience feedback
to ensure accessibility to both artists and audience
to present independent film and video by Canadian artists
to support local artists through exhibition, networking and/or training opportunities
to create opportunities for new artists and the production of emerging work
to recognise outstanding work
to reject censorship
to create a forum for dialogue and the exchange of information between communities
