
James Ong, Board Chair James Ong is a proud producer of art and culture in Vancouver having worked alongside the City's finest and most talented. He's most proud of his work with Spygirl, Vancouver Queer Film Festival, Out in Schools, TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival, Vancouver Folk Music Festival, Winter Solstice Lantern Festival, Winterruption, 2010 Cultural Olympiad, and Vancouver Summer Live. With contributions ranging from production to performance and strategy to structure, having a good time while doing good work is key. James is currently a piano teacher, Production Manger at Coastal Jazz & Blues Society, and Board Chair at the Vancouver Out On Screen Film & Video Society.

| Steve Mulligan, Director at Large Steve is a teacher with the Vancouver School Board. In his former role as the VSB Anti-homophobia and Diversity Consultant, he has worked very closely with Out in Schools to bring queer film and discussion into schools, and was the driving force behind our ever expanding annual PSA competition. His diverse life includes an engineering degree, life as an air force navigator, musical theatre performer and now something really challenging... parenting.

| Melinda Johnston, Director at Large Melinda works in communications, marketing and fundraising for not-for-profit organizations. She is an author, and doer of various creative activities. As such, queer art and artists are among her favourite things. She is very excited to join the board of Out On Screen.

| Dwayne Launt, Director at Large Dwayne grew up watching Bruce Lee, Clint Eastwood and John Wayne movies in a small town outside Halifax. After studying film production at Concordia University he worked in Vancouver's film industry for more than a decade. A few years ago he left movie-making behind for a new career as a realtor so that he could have time for other things—like being part of Out On Screen's board.

![]() | Lori MacIntosh, Director at Large Lori is an educator, dog lover and media enthusiast. Prior to returning to Vancouver to complete her graduate work in Educational Studies, Lori lived and worked in Chicago and Seattle as a IT procurement manager, IT project manager, and HIV outreach coordinator/ curriculum writer. She credits her current love of teaching to this circuitous career path. Having worked with and developed an abiding love for Out in Schools, Lori looks forward to life as an Out On Screen Board Member.

![]() | Dean Malone, Director at Large Dean is a long-time fan of the Queer Film Festival and Out in Schools and is thrilled to be a member of the Out on Screen board. Dean is the owner of a home health care company focused on the LGBTQ community. Dean is also active in our community as the chair of the Fillmore Family Foundation and has been involved with several social profit organizations in Vancouver.

| Gwen Haworth, Director at Large Gwen’s secret ambition is to form a queer, pangender, darkwave, electro pop band. Until she goes on tour, she’ll happily embrace her alter ego as a freelance filmmaker, educator at Vancouver Coastal Health’s Prism, frontline worker at Raincity Housing & Support Society, and volunteer at the All Genders Wellness Centre.
