About the Position

The Donor Services Officer (DSO) is our primary contact with growing family of donors and our lead staff overseeing eTapestry, our organization’s contacts and fundraising database. Reporting to the Executive Director, the DSO leads and implements annual giving campaigns (gifts up to $1,499) and provides support to Major Donor programs, cultivation and appreciation events.

Responsibilities:

§         Serve as the key contact for our growing family of more than 400 donors

§         Manage and oversee eTapestry, our organization’s contacts and fundraising database

§         Lead and implement annual giving (gifts up to $1,499) including, but not limited to: monthly giving, direct mail and electronic-based campaigns

§         Carry a small portfolio of existing Major Donors, and provide support to Major Donor programs

§         Provide logistical and donor service support at cultivation and appreciation events

§         Ensure donor stewardship and recognition is implemented, including timely tax receipting

§         Work collaboratively with staff team to facilitate fund raising, communications, data capture and reporting

§         Ensure campaign targets are met and/or exceeded while department expenses are managed within approved budgets

§         Keep current with all Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) regulations and requirements

Qualifications:

§         Proficiency with eTapestry or similar donor-based database a must

§         Exceptional donor or customer-service skills

§         Min two years fundraising experience or equivalent education and training

§         Excellent written and verbal communication skills

§         Proven organizational and multi-tasking skills

§         Demonstrated collaborator and team player

§         Tact, diplomacy, discretion essential

Employment terms:

This is a year round position based on 37.5 hours per week.

§         Start date January 7, 2013.

§         Comprehensive salary package commensurate with experience starting at $38,000 per annum and including extended health benefits, AFP annual membership and professional development funds.
