Position Summary:

The Donor Services Officer (DSO) is our primary contact with all donors ensuring strong relationships, and our lead staff overseeing eTapestry, our organization’s contacts and fundraising database. Working in consultation with our Executive Director, the DSO leads and implements annual giving campaigns (gifts up to $1,499) and provides support to Major Donor programs, cultivation and appreciation events.

Accountability:

Reports to the Executive Director.

Responsibilities:

Donor Services:

§         Serve as the key contact for our growing family of more than 400 donors

§         Manage and oversee eTapestry, our organization’s contacts and fundraising database

§         Lead and implement annual giving (gifts up to $1,499) including, but not limited to: monthly giving, direct mail and electronic-based campaigns

§         Engage festival goers to become annual donors

§         Provide support to the Executive Director and Fund Development Committee with regards to Major Donor programs

§         Carry a small portfolio of existing Major Donors as assigned by the Executive Director

§         Provide logistical and donor service support at cultivation and appreciation events

§         Ensure donor stewardship and recognition is implemented, including timely tax receipting

§         Work collaboratively with staff team to facilitate fund raising, communications, data capture and reporting

§         In conjunction with senior staff, continue to develop and implement database protocols

§         Recruit, train, supervise, support and evaluate fundraising volunteers as required

General, Reporting:

§         Create and regularly revise a critical path required to carry out the work and fulfill the milestones as set out in the annual Fundraising Plan

§         Develop campaign targets and objectives in consultation with the Executive Director

§         Ensure the fundraising revenue targets from individuals are met and/or exceeded while department expenses are managed within approved budgets set in consultation with the Executive Director

§         Keep current with all Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) regulations and requirements

§         Prepare campaign reports, quarterly donor reports and other information requests

§         Attend and provide reports at monthly staff meetings

§         Participate in annual strategic planning processes and attend up to two board meetings per year

§         Keep accurate and easily accessible records of all work in order to ensure organizational continuity

§         Other duties as required
