Out On Screen fulfills its mission statement through the following artistic commitments:

• to exhibit work representing the most diverse range of images, themes and communities possible
• to involve the community in the programming process
• to be responsive to audience feedback
• to ensure accessibility to both artists and audience
• to present independent film and video by Canadian artists
• to support local artists through exhibition, networking and/or training opportunities
• to create opportunities for new artists and the production of emerging work
• to recognise outstanding work
• to reject censorship
• to create a forum for dialogue and the exchange of information between communities
