  • Produce a second commissioned piece with John Greyson, Richard Fung and Ali Kazimi, that reveals the story of Rex vs. Singh, a sodomy trial that occured in association with the Komagata Maru incident in 1915.
  • Research and commission up to three more collaborative works.
PROJECTION 20: CREATIVE INITIATIVES

QUEER HISTORY PROJECT

Through the Queer History Project, we are commissioning films that record and tell queer experiences from the past to ensure our stories are captured and told for generations. We envision the project will produce a lasting body of work that will enable our stories to take their rightful place in Canadian history.

Currently in the works is a collaborative film project by Veda Hille and Ivan E. Coyote that tells the stories of queer seniors in Vancouver. Premiering at this year’s Festival, this important work is our first commissioned film.
